5 Things to Do in 12 Hours in Bohol, Philippines

by: Carmen Wellington

On Charles’ first trip to the Philippines, we decided to go to Bohol, and also to celebrate my 27th birthday at the same time. We went there with my Mom, brother and sister. We stayed at Veraneante resort which is a private, family-owned resort. They even surprised me with flowers and cake (care of Handel) on my birthday. It was a short stay so we decided to join a group tour, which can be arranged by the hotel staff. The Day City Tour consists of Chocolate Hills, Bilar Man-made forest, Butterfly Sanctuary, Loboc Eco-Tourism Adventure Park, and Tarsier Sanctuary.

Tip: We went here in March which is summer in the Philippines. It was humid. If you are traveling with kids, don’t forget to bring a cap, sunscreen and extra shirt. Drink also lots of water! I haven’t been in the Philippines for so long and I underestimated the heat. Charles was so cranky the whole time.
