The Amalfi Coast is one of the most beautiful travel destinations in the world. It is full of picturesque villages, stunning ocean views, and tall mountains covered in grass. The whole Coast feels like magic, and there is a ton to do while there.
The Coast is a 50-km stretch of pure beauty that will leave you spellbound. From the stunning beaches to the beautiful buildings to the tasty Italian food this is an area that all travelers will love.
Since there is so much to do along the Coast, it is a good idea to make a list of the top things you want to do and see, to ensure you make the most of your visit.
Therefore, I have made a list of the best things to do along the Amalfi Coast for you to look at for inspiration. Take what you like and add it to your itinerary and leave behind what doesn’t fit in.
1. Drive Along the Coast
The Amalfi Coast is a maze full of winding roads the offer stunning views of the water, the mountains, and the various cities. The streets can take you virtually anywhere you’d like along the Coast. As a result, renting a car and driving along it is the best and efficient to see the Amalfi Coast. Renting a car and driving yourself is also the best way to see the Coast with your schedule and desires in mind. This way, you can stop whenever and wherever you’d like.
2. Go to a Beach
Since the Sea surrounds the whole Coast, there are a ton of beaches that are stunning. The water in this area is a vivid blue, and the surrounding mountains create a magical backdrop. Some beaches are located in the main towns along the Coast, and some are hidden just waiting to be discovered.
3. Spend Some Time in Sorrento
Sorrento is an underrated city along the Coast, but it is full of beauty and charm. There are tons of things to do in Sorrento that you could even spend a night or two in this city alone. The best things to do here are to visit a local beach and explore a lemon grove.
4. Go on a Boat Tour
Since the whole Amalfi Coast is along the Sea, one of the best ways to get a 360-degree view of it is by boat. There is a plethora of boat tour company’s available that will bring you all around the area. The boat tours will provide you with some of the most breathtaking views of your life. This is one of the best things to do especially if you have a limited amount of time and want to see as much of the beautiful cities and towns along the way as possible.
5. Go for a Hike
The Amalfi Coast is built in and around the enormous mountains in the area. As a result, there are some fantastic hikes available that will both challenge and reward you. The views from the walks will astonish you! Viewing the picturesque Italian villages, the lush mountains and the blue waters from above is a sight you will not soon forget.
6. Check out Capri
Capri is a beautiful island located just a short distance from the mainland of the Coast. It is a very different destination along the Coast that boasts a more luxurious and high-end vibe. Taking a boat ride here to experience all the beautiful things to do in Capri is a must.
7. Adventure in Amalfi
Amalfi is another city along the Coast that is full of cute houses, delicious pizza and pasta, and clear blue waters. One great thing about Amalfi is that just a short distance up the mountain is Ravello another famous city along the Coast. Therefore, a stop in Amalfi allows you to go to Ravello quickly and hit two amazing cities in one stop.
8. Take Photos along the Roads
The winding roads that snake around the Coast can be a little bit scary to drive around, but there are quite a few ‘pullover’ sections for cars to park and admire the views. These sections offer views of the Coast that not many others get to experience. If you have rented a car and can stop, this is the perfect place for some photos!
9. Explore Positano
Positano is by far the most famous travel location along the Amalfi Coast. It is known as the vertical city because the city is built up the mountainside! Positano is one of the most picturesque places on earth. The houses along the mountains are all pastel-colored, the beaches have blue waters, and the hills are lush with greenery.
10. Eat Gelato
All cities along the Coast are full of delicious, fresh, local gelato that you have to taste. All the flavors are new and unique, and the flavors are out of this world. There is nothing better than eating gelato in the country it was created while overlooking the stunning Amalfi Coast.
