Destressing your mind
Mental wellness is a factor that we often ignore. With the stresses and strains of working for prolonged durations, your mental health deteriorates gradually. In western countries, it is mandatory for a working professional to take an annual vacation.
According to a study, traveling correlates with a reduction in the risk of heart problems and depression. On the other hand, it improves mental well being by forming new neural connections in your brain.
Travelling also reduces cortisol levels in the brain, which has a calming effect, and it drastically reduces stress levels within just two days of starting to travel.
Experts believe traveling is a great way to destress and reconnect with your soul. You get a chance to not worry about anything and focus on your passions again. All the things you are capable of doing when you are motivated and not stressed can be astonishing.

I’ve always known that travelling offers many amazing benefits. But I’ve mostly been afraid of new places my entire life and so I talk myself out of every opportunity to travel. It is a goal I’m looking to start pursuing in the next quarter.
This is such a beautiful reminder.
Yes to all of the above! Traveling, even if it’s just for a day or someplace close to home, can help you so much! I always feel so refreshed and have such a better outlook on things when I’ve had a chance to escape for a bit.
I agree rediscovering yourself is so important! This is an awesome post!
Traveling truly allows me to regenerate my body. Its a well needed mental break from my hectic lifestyle. I loved this article.
Now, that’s the reason why ao travel. 🙂 How I wish Ai could do it full time.
Yes to all of the above! I always learn so much about myself when I travel and it gives me a chance to reconnect with not only my family, but the real me.
Vacation and time away from the hustle and bustle is needed to keep your sanity. Thanks for reminding us the benefit and to not throw it by the waist side.
Traveling also help getting out of depression. I had tried it recently and it was good!
I believe this 100% We go on vacation soon and I am SO ready for it because I need this so bad!
I can totally relate. I agree with this specially the part where we rediscover ourselves. I’ve been traveling for awhile and I’ve discovered things that I didn’t know I have, specially when traveling alone. I learned some life skills and pretty much to be independent.
Taking a break, and traveling is a great way to nourish our soul.
That explains why I love to travel so much, it’s for my mental health as there is too mush stress in our lives. Thank you!
Traveling is also important for our body and mind. It is a time when our body and mind get to have a break from the outside world and the stressors it brings. Of course, it is also important to plan ahead before traveling like what you have written here. 🙂
This is a great reminder, especially for the western world that there are other cultures and ways of life outside of our own daily bubble. It’s mentally stimulating to be in a foreign environment with different foods, languages, and sites. It really does help everyone to remember we are all part of this beautiful world.
Great post! Personally traveling stresses me out though haha 😛

When I travel I like to combine relaxation with activities. I do enjoy nice spa hotels where I can relax after a full day of hiking for example.
Travelling is the best medicine for an overworked mind! I feel like a new person while I’m on & right after a vacation.
